Pete’s Fresh Market SPEC Advertisement
In 2013 Evergreen Park was celebrating 120 years, and the advertising representatives of The Regional News and The Reporter newspapers insisted on us making SPEC ads for potential clients. One potential client was Pete’s Fresh Market.
The lower half of the ad was scanned from an in-store advertisement, while the Ad Rep had requested something special for the top half. I was provided with the apple version of their logo, and found stock image from our subscription services of a crate with raw vegetables and tried two versions of the graphic with the logo on the side, and a 120 year text — photoshopping the text to look like it was either burned or chiseled into the wood.
Despite making two full tabloid ads in hopes of securing the new advertiser, the ads were never purchased, nor ever run in either The Regional News or The Reporter newspapers in 2013.
